Today doing an Urgoz run like everyone I was hoping for the elusive longbow. Everyone who has done these missions knows what they are like and very little pay off for most. Unfortunately a great run was ruined by what I have to say was the lowest blow I have ever seen someone do.

1 ranger died while killing Urgoz and he just happened to have the longbow drop for him. A ranger and myself jumped to res him so he could pick up his bow only to find out someone had thrown up frozen soil which made it impossible for us to rez him. This ele/ranger continued throwing up frozen soil while someone who claimed was his wife went on about how brilliant he was coming up with this idea. So we all promised this ranger that we would try and claim the bow and give it back to him as soon as it timed out. Unfortunately the ele's *wife*was quicker on the keys then we were. The ele and his *wife* both mapped out immediately after picking up the bow.

Is this what GW is really coming to that people are willing to sink so low as to do this kind of thing???? The ele felt justified by saying he had had 20 runs and never got a drop yet today he also got the flatbow!! He also said he only brought it for afk'rs and morons who would screw up the run! None of which was present today as we finished with very few deaths and in an hour and 45 minutes.

I know the usual scams out there with people who try and trade gold instead of plat etc. It just seems so sad that no one even seems to bat an eye that this is happening!

If only anet could introduce item claims like you get at the end of every mission! Then maybe these kind of things wouldn't happen!

Very frustrated!!!! Hopefully anet will do something as both where reported with screenshots! I only hope they aren't able to do this to someone else!

Unfortunately a**hats like this will always continue to exist. I feel sorry for this guy but there really isn't much you can do outside reporting.

Anet was nice enough a while back to make it slightly more inconvienient for scammers to steal drops; they made it so the timer was longer.

I'm sorry to hear that something like that happened, it seems like the only reason he brought frozen soil was in hoping to screw somebody. Its especially low because of the mission it happened it.

Anet should change the timer on items so it doesn't count down when the player is dead.

Yeah we all SS'd and reported them. I wish I would have at least gotten a drop so I could have given the guy something. I was just happy to see him back in Urgoz a bit later in another team! Hopefully he got the longbow!

Wow, that's pretty sad that someone would screw over someone else so blatantly like that. However when you think about it, someone that is capable of allowing themselves to screw someone over like that is really setting themselves up for a lot of problems in real life. Truly this is a sad story on many levels.

man I feel bad for the guy and I wasnt even there, that really is harsh. I hope that person gets banned or dealt with in someway

That does suck, but heres a way to prevent it, have someone that COULD bring frozen soil prove that they dont have it, such as during combat, check to see if he/she has 8 spells that doesn't include Frozen Soil. If they cannot prove they are not using Frozen Soil, then goodbye, new game.

Things like this should not happen though, its too bad there are genuinely twisted people that like to take joy out of what this game is, a GAME. It's sad if you have to revert to a skill checking method like above to see if someone is bringing something that would destroy a team. Monks with the TK resses are also equally untrustworthy, there are much better resses, especially for Urgozs' or The Deep.

There REALLY needs to be a way to see the skills of your party members. It's been asked before but... oh well. Probaly people need to ask harder about it.

OMG...that's a new one to me...I've had monks in fow refuse to rez so they could time out drops etc but frozen soil used against the team is new...damn it's sad that we as players cant trust each other in PuGs ...makes you only wanna run with guildies.

I feel awful for the guy that lost the bow, I hope Anet not only bans the Asshat who did this and his "wife" but gives that guy a bow...damn unlikely but hey I can send good thoughts that direction...

I seen this kind of cheap trick before.. remember the new tomb and how peoples try to body block you if you got greens dropped for you? I remember once instant that a Victo Bulwak dropped and the person was dead. Than this idiot begin to block us for ressing and to claim the shield as his. While after a while, we got ther person back up and he got it.

Maybe...just maybe we not only need a claim function but a vote_kick command for those who acted dumb in the game?
